Project coordinator

Responsibilities:
Assess clients’ needs and service requests based on the skills and availability of internal translators and the external service provider.
Assign projects and ensure that deadlines are met.
Analyze and prepare translation projects (analyze source documents, compare files, search for reference documents, communicate instructions to translators).
Compile data for reporting purposes.
Deliver translations, clean source and target files, and update the terminology database.
Plan the execution of every step and aspect of the management of each project.
Manage client relations and communications.
Search for certain documents, as needed.
Send some projects to an external service provider, as well as any relevant reference documents. Assign those projects to internal revisers, send final versions to the external service provider, and check invoices.
Attend meetings in person or virtually; travel to Toronto and Montreal on an occasional basis.
Perform other tasks as needed by the department.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in translation or a relevant field.
At least 2 years of experience as a Project Coordinator or Project Manager in the field of translation.
Good memory and ability to recognize related projects and draw parallels between them.
Organizational and planning skills.
Working knowledge of CAT tools
Proficiency in advanced features of MS Office.
Perfect command of spoken and written English.
Good management of priorities and overall professionalism.
Analytical skills and ability to adapt in a working environment where priorities shift frequently.
Proactive, thorough, detail-oriented, versatile, reliable, and flexible.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of issues affecting small businesses and their reality would be an asset.
